The Serbian Tennis player and World Number One Novak Djokovic’s frustration has brought an ill-fate to him.

In the ongoing US Open, Djokovic was playing against Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta and after losing the set, the Serbian player took a hit at the ball in the direction of a female official. The ball hit the official in her throat and Novak ran to check on her, however, the carelessness cost him his position.

Following the incident, the judges announced Pablo to be the winner while Djokovic was disqualified from playing the US Open. The disqualification resulted in Novak losing the ranking points he earned at the US Open and a fine of the prize money won at the tournament.

Soon after the incident, Djokovic issued a long apology letter to the woman official and the US Open and wrote, “As for the disqualification, I need to go back within and work on my disappointment and turn this all into a lesson for my growth and evolution as a player and human being. I apologize to the @usopen tournament and everyone associated for my behavior.” thanking his family and team for being there with him.
