Every year, Army Day is celebrated to mark the first Indian general taking over the command of the Indian Army from a British officer in 1949. On this day, the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice in service to the nation are remembered and the country salutes the courageous soldiers and their families.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on behalf of the people of India on Twitter to the Army officers, servicemen and their brave families. See:

 

On this memorable day, the Indian army also shared a two minute video to salute the strong and resolute army who protects the Indian borders and serves the country till their last breath. From missile launch, vigorous training of soldiers to flight of army aircrafts and created war scenario, watch the capable army do what they do without any hesitance:

Also, making the day more special for soldiers, Akshay Kumar played volleyball with soldiers and shared a video of it on his Instagram. Bonding with the Indian army over sports, he wrote, “Had the pleasure of meeting some of our bravehearts today to flag off a marathon on the occasion of #ArmyDay and what better way to warm up than a quick game of volleyball 😁”.
