Britain has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-9 vaccine, rolling out from early next week.

Announcing this big happy news on Twitter, the UK’s health ministry issued a statement stating that accepting the recommendation of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the government has approved this Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID vaccine. After clinical trials and data analysis by the MHRA experts, it’s concluded that this vaccine has met the strict standards of safety, quality and effectiveness.

The UK government will soon also publish the final advice on how the priority groups will receive the vaccine, including care home residents, healthcare staff, elderly and people who are clinically vulnerable. NHS will deliver large scale vaccination programmes and provide support to the preparations required for all those eligible for vaccination.
