The Indian team is on a roll, won all three series against England, be it the 3-1 Test win or the T20I win 3-2.
Wrapping up the ODI series against the English team, India had a successful season which ended with 2-1 series win.
A game filled with tension and twist at every ball, the Virat Kohli led squad showed consistency, patience and faith in one another. With England winning the toss and choosing to bowl, India set a target of 330 for the opponents by getting all out before they could even finish the 50 overs. Rishabh Pant’s 78, 67 by Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya’s 64 helped India set a reasonable score.
When England walked in to bat, they scored 322 at the cost of nine wickets fallen down but their all-rounder Sam Curran’s 90+ runs kept them alive in the game. In a turn of events, at one point, it looked like India was losing the match due to the end number of misfields and dropped catches. But Natarajan’s one over changed the game and India won the third ODI by 8 runs.
With the Indian team finally breathing in relief, they lifted the ODI series trophy and the XI squad had the brightest smile plastered over their face. Jonny Bairstow was named as ‘Man of the Series’ while Sam Curran got the ‘Man of the Match’.
Shardul Thakur and Bhuvenshwar Kumar’s bowling attack and wicket taking skills also played a major role in India beating England. Proud of the team, skipper Kohli posted a series of pictures on the gram to celebrate the series win, have a look:
