The International Cricket Council (ICC) has ended the year by announcing the ICC rankings for Test and T20 in the batting and bowling department.
It won’t be a surprise to guess the ICC Test rankings but in the T20I rankings will leave you shocked and surprised.
Coming to the ICC Test rankings, Virat Kohli has ended 2019 as the numero uno in Test cricket with 928 points, for the second consecutive year. The surprise entry into this list is of South Africa’s Quinton De Kock and Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne.
Jumping from the 110 position to the fourth rank, Labuschagne is the only Test batsman to score more than 1000 runs in 2019. What a stellar year for Marnus!
While, De Kock caught everyone’s attention after playing a victory innings for his team against England. Now, the wicketkeeper is at the tenth spot.
In the ICC Test bowling rankings, Australian bowler Pat Cummins showed his dominance off-the field by becoming the top Test bowler. After taking wicket in key match moments, the pace bowler ruled the bowling department in the long formatted game.
Three Indian bowlers; Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and R Ashwin marked their names in the ICC Test rankings despite injuries and exclusion in the team for a few series.
