Deepika Padukone’s most ambitious film ‘Chhapaak’ trailer is out!

Based on the life of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, Deepika plays the role of Malti. The movie gives us a glimpse of how she digs deep after the harrowing incident to emerge out as a fighter and is already winning hearts. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie also stars Vikrant Massey, as a social activist named Amol.

Showcasing a powerful display of acting, Deepika will leave you in awe with how she got into the character’s shoes. Vikrant has left a lasting impression with his acting as well. And of course, the trailer will leave you numb and speechless. A strong portrayal of emotions, it is a journey of self-love, justice and acceptance.

The heinous crime committed by a few will give you goosebumps, taking you through a traumatic yet inspiring story. Through her story, the film will help you understand the after effects of surviving an acid attack in India. Also, about the medical, legal and social state of affairs that transpires after the incident.

Coincidentally, the trailer is dropped on World Human Rights Day. Also, ‘Chhapaak’ marks Deepika’s foray into film production.
