Microsoft Teams has announced an array of new features to help users feel more connected to people at work and school by reducing video fatigue, make meetings more inclusive as well as engaging and to streamline work to save time.

Have a look at the five features rolled out by Microsoft Teams:

1. Together Mode

Attending virtual meetings is more than ever while working from home. Together mode is a new meeting experience where they use AI segmentation technology to digitally place participants in a shared background, making it feel like everyone is in the same room. This will help you focus on people’s face, body language and make it easier to understand non-verbal cues.

2. Large Gallery View

Microsoft is expanding the Teams gallery view for video calls, making it to 49 visible participants. It is also planning to support large meetings and expand till one thousand participants in the video call.

3. Tasks App

To tackle personal productivity within Teams, Tasks App is launched to offer users a unified view of their tasks across different apps. It brings together tasks from Planner, Microsoft To Do and Outlook. The app also creates smart views like ‘assigned to me’ and ‘important’ to curate a structured view of action.

4. Captions and Transcripts

For participants to get a better follow of the video meetings, live captions are out to identify who the speaker is. Teams will also add a transcription option that will be saved in the meeting’s chat tab for review later on. The next is video filters to subtly adjust lighting or soften the focus to feel your best on every video call. Smiles and nods are difficult to notice in online meetings, so one will be able to react using emojis to provide instant feedback.

5. Dynamic View

For improving the standard video meeting experience, Dynamic View is also the latest feature that has AI-driven capability. With this feature, users will get more control over other participants and shared content will be displayed only to specific participants side-by-side. Also, it can automatically adjust your view, like the video participants main section of the screen and audio ones on the right side.
