Vicky Kaushal began his acting career with a small role in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana in 2012 and debuted as a hero in Masaan that won him the best debut actor at IIFA, Stardust, Zee Cine and Screen Awards. He was seen in Raman Raghav 2.0 in 2016 but did not have any release in 2017.

However, the year 2018 has been a special year in Vicky Kaushal’s career as he has got four releases — Love Per Square Foot, Raazi, Lust Stories and Sanju in the first six months itself. All the movies were successful at the box office and he won many privileges as well.

Talking about his role in the movie, he had earlier said, ‘The story captures the 35-year journey of Sanjay Dutt. So it starts from when Rocky released, Sanjay was 22, and my character’s age was 20. I had to lose weight to look like a lean young Gujarati guy to an aged man of the present time. I went through a huge physical transformation.’ The character is an amalgamation of three or four of Sanjay Dutt’s closest friends in real life but primarily, was based on Paresh Ghelani currently residing in the US.

Talking about the film, Sanju is already breaking records at the box office. The film earned the title of the biggest opener of 2018 and also the highest second-day collections for a film in 2018.
