Music composer and Bollywood singer Wajid Khan of music director duo Sajid-Wajid has passed away at the age of 42 in a Mumbai hospital due to complications arising from a kidney infection. He was popular for his work for superstar Salman Khan’s films.

Making debut in Bollywood in 1998 with Salman’s ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’, the music composer duo went to work on other movies of the actor including ‘Garv’, ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Tumko Na Bhool Payenge’, ‘Partner’ and the popular ‘Dabangg’ franchise.

Apart from creating blockbuster music, Wajid Khan was also a playback singer for hit tracks such as ‘Mera Hi Jalwa’, ‘Fevicol Se’ and for Akshay Kumar in ‘Chinta Ta Chita Chita’. Also, Wajid Khan recently composed two of Salman’s songs for COVID-19, ‘Pyaar Karona’ and ‘Bhai Bhai’.

Along with his brother Sajid, Wajid Khan became a judge and mentor for singing reality shows ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ and ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar’. The brother duo also scored IPL 4 theme song, ‘Dhoom Dhoom Dhoom Dhadaka’, crooned by Wajid himself.
