[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Saving the environment is not limited to activists anymore. People from all walks of life are doing their bit to ensure the planet is safe from various pollutants. There have been inventions to curb plastic waste, France has recently banned disposable plastic cups and plates, the United Kingdom, meanwhile has let go of plastic straws and other single use plastics. Steps have been taken, slowly but surely to make sure that our future generations do not suffer the results of our folly. India however, is still in its nascent stage in fighting global pollution. However, with awareness growing, there have been small sections in the society fighting the menace in their own way.

THE OTHER SIDE   ASTITVA

Kala Drishti, a Delhi-based NGO, is a case in point. The NGO works towards promoting upcoming artists, and to mark the World Environment Day on June 5, 2018, their artists have created an extraordinary array of art works made with waste material–things we won’t think twice before chucking them carelessly.  They have inventively used items like paper, CDs, wooden boxes, wires, steel, cotton, newspaper, ice cream stick, etc. The artist in question, Deepak, has created works like the guitar, a girl statue, a bunch of keys, portraits and other innovative works. Kala Drishti, through this initiative, is sending a strong message to take care of the earth before it is too late. Reuse, recycle—that’s their agenda, even if through art!
