As the warmer months arrive, bringing with them the lush bloom of seasonal flowers, ASHDEEN introduces Floralista. This collection continues the brand’s exploration of craft, only this time with a gentler hand. Known for intricate, hand-embroidered Parsi Gara sarees, designer Ashdeen Lilaowala offers an intentional shift for Spring-Summer 2025: one where print takes the spotlight and embroidery becomes a quiet frame.

Painterly florals such as poppies, daisies, orchids, and forget-me-nots sweep across satin and crepe sarees, rendered in flowing silhouettes that move like breath. Off-white and inky black bases provide elegant grounding, allowing vivid colours to unfold with ease.

The styling speaks to a world without borders. The campaign presents these garments layered with diaphanous kimonos and Japanese floral language. The sarees move with ease across cultures, yet the pieces never lose their grounding in the subcontinent. There’s no cultural borrowing here, only dialogue.

“It was about finding a moment where old and new could hold hands, without one overpowering the other,” says Ashdeen. While the core of the collection lies in its prints, select sarees are punctuated by hand-embroidered Gara borders, bringing heritage into gentle conversation with contemporary textile expression.

Floralista is not a departure from the brand’s essence but a natural evolution. This is not less Gara; it is Gara reimagined. Tradition isn’t discarded, it’s distilled. The result is a line that honours Ashdeen’s legacy while reflecting the rhythms of modern life: lighter, versatile, and deeply intentional.

This Spring-Summer 2025 collection is proof that Ashdeen isn’t designing for nostalgia, but for the global woman who sees the sarees as both statement and staple.

Global in aesthetic, timeless in spirit, the collection proves that heritage doesn’t have to be preserved under glass. It can evolve, seduce, and speak every language.

The collection is now available at ASHDEEN ateliers in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. It is also available online at ashdeen.com.
