After a planned resumption of ATP Tours of this season, the Men’s Tournament, Citi Open, to be held in Washington DC has been called off.

Earlier, the Tennis Association had released the revised dates of the tournaments going to be held across different cities in the world and Citi Open was scheduled to start from 13 August. However, with continued uncertainties looming over the world due to COVID-19 pandemic, the ability to meet key event planning deadlines by the organizers have been compromised leading to the decision to cancel the event.

Meanwhile, the ATP is  working closely with the USTA on the Western & Southern Open and the US Open, which are scheduled to take place back-to-back in New York from 20 August.

Citi Open Chairman Mark Ein, made the grave announcement by stating: “After months of tireless work by our team and close collaboration with our many stakeholders, we are heartbroken to announce that we must unfortunately postpone the 52nd Citi Open until the summer of 2021”.
