Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand is one of the most beautiful and favorite treks of all time, located at a height on west Himalayas. And why would one not love this natural botanical garden of India where the flowers bloom in the entire valley in a riot of colours? It is renowned for its lush meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora as well as some rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, brown bear and blue sheep.

Sitting in the valley with fathom for the view in front of the eyes filled with colours blooming in full force, the Himalayan flowers called as the blue Primula bloom in majority and lights up the eues, the other side is covered with snow-clad mountains while a river glides majestically in the middle of the valley. If this is not heaven then what is?

So now that you have got all pumped up and all set to head to this divine valley let us help you a little. Haridwar, which is well connected to Delhi, is the nearest place to the base camp, that is Govindghat (located on the banks of river Alaknanda), this is where the trek starts from. The valley is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. While you’re at it make sure you give the Hemkund Sahib a visit, it is a lake at 14,300 ft. Later you can visit the Gurudwara and also have the delicious langar-prasad and also the Laxman temple, both, located on the bank of the lake.

The trek is usually of 4 days letting you cover a big chunk of the mighty Himalayas and soak into the beauty. You must visit the valley during monsoon, that is July- August to watch the valley roar and splatter with colours. The serene feeling will definitely make you visit the floral heaven again.
