Carolina Marin the Olympic Champion and ace shuttler recorded her first win in the VICTOR China Open tour being held at Olympic Sports Center Xincheng Gymnasium in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China. The audience saw a marvellous performance by Carolina, who is back in the game post her knee injury, claiming her victory against World Champion runner up Nazomi Okuhara.

Celebrating her win, the ace player shared her excitement on her social media handle along with a picture from the court.

Meanwhile, Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal was knocked out in her first round by Thailand’s Busanan Ongbanrungphan. Saina was back in the game recovering from her injuries but sadly could not match up with the Thai player. This was her second consecutive loss against Busanan and fourth early exit after the Thailand Open, World Championship and the New Zealand Open.

Well, India’s hope is still high with PV Sindhu, the current World Champion, who played against former Olympic Champion Li Xue Rui of China and had an easy win over her. The golden girl not only showed a power pack performance in the court but also finished the whole match in 35 minutes with an absolute win.

Along with it, in men’s single, Sai Praneeth had some tough times in the court against Thailand’s Suppanyu Avihingsanon. The Indian player finally recorded a victory over his Thai counterpart in the longest game of the season which continued for over 72 minutes and is all set to face Lu Guang Zu of China.
