A land known for its rich heritage, glacier and yaks, Ladakh is filled with beautiful mountains going crisscross to valleys at every vantage point. In the virtual tour, you will know about the famous places you can visit once the pandemic is over and travel restrictions are put down. Have a look at the main five parts of Ladakh:
1. Leh City
One of the most popular locations in Ladakh, Leh is known for handicrafts and souvenirs. You should go sightseeing to Shanti Stupa, the historical monument where you can get a scenic view of river Indus and Leh city. If your soul feeds on adventure, go to Khardungla, the highest motorable road of the world. Every 12 years, the Naropa festival is held at the biggest monastery of Ladakh, Hemis monastery.
2. Nubra Valley
From the cold desert of Hunder sand dunes, medicinal value hot springs of Panamik to the last village of India near the Pakistan border called Turtuk village and the holy lake of the locals, Yarab Tso lake, Nubra Valley is the definition of never ending landscapist views.
3. Changthang valley
Many movies are shot in the Pangong Tso, one of the highest salt lake in the world and you can see seven shades of water from top of the hill. If you are lover of astronomy, you should visit the Astronomy sessions at Maan village and use the telescope of Hanie observatory to see the clear night sky filled with twinkling stars and one can see the Milky Way too.
4. Kargil
Known mostly for the Indo-Pak war, you will feel patriotic on visiting Drass War Memorial. The highest peaks of Ladakh, Nun Kun Peaks are here and is home to the beautiful Suru valley, where apricot blossoms take place.
5. Zanskar
Being the most unexplored region of Himalayas, it has the best trekking spot in the Lung Nak valley. The main town for connectivity is the Padum town and it has the world famous cave monastery called Phugtal monastery.
