India directed a major pre-emptive strike on JeM’s major camp early Tuesday to avert suicide attacks being planned by the Pakistan-based terror group, killing a large number of terrorists and trainers, as said by Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale. He also said credible intelligence was received that the JeM was planning to carry out other suicide attacks in India after the Pulwama bombing on a CRPF convoy 12 days ago that killed 40 jawans.

‘A very large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and groups of jihadis who were being trained for fidayeen action were eliminated’ in the action, said Gokhale. After an enquiry about the event, many took to social media to express their feelings over India’s reaction to terrorism. From trolling Pakistan to encouraging for the Indian Armed Forces, here are some of the many antiphons from denizens.

Pakistan has downplayed the incident. “Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzaffarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage,” Major General Asif Ghafoor, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the army, said in a tweet in Islamabad.

India had earlier carried out surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LOC in vengeance to an attack on an army base in Kashmir’s Uri in 2016.
