The automaker presents this sleek sedan as a replacement for its Passat Comfort Coupe. In fact, the avant-garde Arteon concept car was presented at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2015 and had garnered the attraction of luxury car lovers all around the globe since then.
Volkswagen Arteon comes in two trim levels, Elegance and R-Line. Elegance, as its name suggests, focusses on its premium features while the R-Line focussing on the sporting details.
The precise, athletic lines of the car remind you of the Gran Turismo, a concept that blends a sports car with a sedan. The sloping rooflines add to aero-dynamicity of the sedan, while the turbine-style wheels remind you of the Tesla Model S. The wide chromium grille consisting of six horizontal blades holds the logo, and extends itself towards both sides and merge flawlessly into the wraparound LED headlights to present an alluring fascia. Frameless door glass, muscled haunches, a spoiler that blends into the car’s trailing edge, and sequential rear turn signals add to the sexiness of the model.
The designs make uses of MQB platform, which is also used by Audi A5, but the Arteon is taller, longer and wider. The interior is spacious and elegant with heated, leatherette front seats. The fully digital instrument cluster called Virtual Cockpit is once again an adaptation from the Audi. The sedan is powered by a 268-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces a torque of 258 lb of torque, and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
