[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It was in 2016 that the luxury fashion retail brand Louis Vuitton reintroduced fragrances for women after a gap of 70 years. The brand is set forth to unveil its first collection of fragrance for men this May and will be available in-store and online by the end of this month. This collection of fragrances have been crafted by the renowned French perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud; a man who perceives perfumes as emotions not fragrances.

He states that men are now open to fragrances that were once labelled as feminine. “Men are becoming more sophisticated,” he added.

The first scent Immensité takes on a zesty note as the French perfumer mixes the bitter grapefruit with ginger, labdanum resin and a subtle dose of ambroxan. The second fragrance is a dedication to the Italian aristocrat Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, one of the first Louis Vuitton clients. The fragrance Nouveau Monde has cocoa notes as it is crafted with resinoid of natural cocoa, produced on the Ivory Coast and presents an unexpected spicy note of oud and saffron.

Belletrud says the scent takes an inspiration from the omnipotence of natural elements like the wind, rain and thunderstorms. The fourth composition Sur la Route reflect every individual’s personal journey and is characterized by Calabrian citrus fruits mixed with Peruvian balsam, a gradation of cedar and an addition of bergamot. The Au Hasard is a mysterious creation with Sri Lankan sandalwood oil, crisp cardamom and ambrette notes that hints charisma and spontaneity.

The bottle, designed by the designer Marc Newson, is simple and with sober lines to represent subtleness and masculinity. The colour palette of the fragrance ranges from storm grey or teal to beige cashmere and desert sand.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
