During the festive season, our skincare routine and regular diet surely go for a toss. Due to the excessive makeup, oily food, sleepless nights and other such factors lead to dry & dull skin or breakouts if left untreated for long. To keep your skin healthy and glowing a proper skincare regime should be followed after all festive celebrations.
As the festival ends you surely get the time to relax and rejuvenate yourself. Give your skin time and care to relax, restore and rejuvenate. Dr. Blossom Kochhar shares some easy ways to detox your skin post the festivities.
Step 1 –
Daily cleansing is no doubt a necessity of any skin type. Cleansing helps to remove dirt, grime, pollution, excess oil that eventually leads to acne breakouts and various skin problems. You can either use a cleanser or a face wash to cleanse your skin. Try to use a face wash or cleanser with natural ingredients and fewer chemical ingredients. You can prepare your cleanser at home, or you can shop for some aromatherapy cleanser to help the skin heal more quickly.
Step 2 –
You must exfoliate your skin. Exfoliation helps to deeply cleanse the skin, unclog pores and renew the skin within. You can use the face wash or an exfoliating gel to exfoliate the skin. Apply the face wash and gently massage the face with a brush. Alternatively, you can take the steam to exfoliate. Take some warm water in a bowl, add some rose petals or rose water to it and give your skin steam exfoliation with it for 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse off your skin with cold water to close skin pores.
Step 3 –
Use a toner after exfoliation to close and tighten the skin pores. Toners help to maintain the pH balance of the skin and protect the skin from impurities, dust, etc. You can prepare toner at home using cucumber, rose water, or other ingredients as per your skin type or you can get any toner formulated with natural extracts. directly spray the toner onto the face or apply it with cotton.
Step 4 –
Final step of your cleansing should always be moisturising. Moisturising keeps the skin firm, slows down aging and prevents blemishes. You can use milk cream to moisturise your skin, or you can use moisturiser as per your skin type. Oily skin, sensitive skin and combination skin types should prefer using hydrating moisturisers whereas dry skin types should use rich moisturisers to keep the skin nourished.
