A fresh, childlike and beautiful Vaani added a flower-like fragility and an ethereal grace to the garments she showcased. It is exactly why designer Payal Jain chose her to embody the spirit of her 2018 Couture collection at DLF Gurgaon’s Crest Club. The actor wore red and white flowy silhouettes and carried them off with a sophisticated simplicity that belied the intricacy of the detailing and structure of each piece in the collection.
“Vaani looks like a beautiful flower herself which is why I felt it was befitting to have her close the Moonlit collection which is inspired by floral beauty,” says Payal.
This collection is inspired by delicate milky white flowers of ethereal beauty and pristine simplicity. The interplay of textiles, yarns, weaves and precious details bring together a ‘Vision in White’. Heritage and tradition are reinterpreted in dramatic contemporary silhouettes and intricate drapes. Handcrafted intricate Chikankari, three-dimensional appliqué, traditional mirror-work, Resham-Dori embroidery, age-old Zardosi and a sprinkling of precious bugle beads on luxurious silk taffeta, satin, floaty sheer Georgette, sensual Chanderi, handwoven ‘Katruan’ and ‘Khinkhab’ weave the aesthetic of understated luxury.
