The ongoing conflict between the US President Donald Trump and World Health Organization Chief Dr Tedros Adhanom is not hidden from the world. The timely blame game and open questions to WHO from President Trump has become more of a common sight during the COVID-19 Pandemic with temporary freezing of fundings from the US.
Now, renewing his allegations and taking his war of words ahead, Trump has issued a letter for the WHO Chief putting down all his accusations in bullet points in a four paged note.
According to the letter, WHO has been criticized for withholding the reports of Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan and is claimed to have failed to take effective measures for battling against this shortcoming.
Trump also said that Taiwanese Authority had reported and showed concern regarding the public health but WHO did not bring it in world notice may be because of political reasons.
Taking an open jibe at China, Trump’s letter also stated, “The International Health Regulations require countries to report the risk of health emergencies within 24 hours. But China did not inform the World Health Organizationof Wuhan’s several cases of Pneumonia, of unknown origin, until December 31, 3019, even though it likely had knowledge of these cases days or weeks earlier.”
Asking WHO firmly to step up and take effective measures, President Trump sent a warning of permanently freezing the funding to the organization while reconsidering the US membership in WHO.
Donald Trump shared this letter on his official Twitter handle, calling it to be “self-explanatory”.
