The female boxers, who won medals at their respective events in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, held at Ulan-Ude, Russia, spoke about their experience at the tournament.
And it’s inspirational!
Winning a bronze in the 69kg event, Lovlina Borgohain is closing this chapter and is thinking about her future games. The boxer wants to work hard to change the colour of her medal. Next time, she’ll concentrate on making the bout as one-sided for an easy win. So her agenda is practice more to win.

Jamuna Boro clinched a bronze medal as well in the World Championships, for the 54kg event. Thanking her coaches, she will now learn to give more punches. A pro in counter-attack and defence, Jamuna will focus on attack. Playing a tough bout for the medal, she’s happy with her win in such a short span of time.
While, a silver medal was claimed by Manju Rani in the 49kg event, losing Gold in a split decision. The 19 year-old is happy with her win and was sure to win a medal, after such an amazing training. Being her first ever experience in boxing tournaments, the boxer will learn from her mistakes and do better.
