The dessert-forward brand brings its signature pâtisserie, bakes, and all-day café experience to Lower Parel.

Vanilla Miel, the Mumbai pâtisserie, chocolaterie and café brand founded by sisters Isha Shetty and Mansi Shetty Bafna, is opening its second café at Lodha Signet, Lower Parel. The brand began in 2018 as a delivery-led dessert and chocolate label, building its name through entremets, tarts, chocolates and gifting, before opening its first café in Pali Village in 2024. With this second space, that same dessert-forward world pushes further into their fuller, all-day café format.

Dessert has always been where Vanilla Miel begins. Signatures like Sienna, an almond tart layered with dark chocolate ganache, salted crunch and chocolate mousse, and Pistachio, which pairs 55% chocolate with pistachio praline, look understated at first glance, then slowly reveal how much thought has gone into every layer . The chocolaterie carries the same sensibility through the Maxime Chocolate Capsules & Tabs, the Praline Sprigs and the Chocolate Lines. It is this quiet, considered approach to pastry and chocolate, never dessert as an afterthought to coffee, that continues to set Vanilla Miel apart.

The Lower Parel café brings this same identity into a new neighbourhood, shaped by warm earthy tones, natural materials, diffused lighting and greenery. The brand’s signature yellow ribbon runs through the space as both a design motif and a subtle privacy divider, while a textile triptych by artist Ish Patil, inspired by vanilla and honey, brings a personal, artistic touch to the room. Varied seating lets the space hold many kinds of moments: a quick coffee, a long brunch, an afternoon spent over dessert.

The new all-day menu expands on what Vanilla Miel is known for, adding breakfast, brunch, healthy options, savoury plates, a full specialty coffee programme and a dedicated matcha offering.

Coffee begins with a micro-roasted, low-acidity medium-dark roast from high-altitude Chikmagalur estates, and extends into more playful preparations that go beyond the traditional espresso bar, including a Honey Cinnamon Latté, Hot Crème Brûlée Latte (a take on a classic dessert – quintessentially Vanilla Miel), Iced Vietnamese Coffee, Iced Coconut Latte, Iced Vanilla Bean Shakerato and Iced Tiramisu Latte alongside an Orange Basil and Spiced Guava cold brew, and their best seller, a Vietnamese-style VM House Phin Cold Coffee. The matcha programme uses ceremonial-grade matcha, served hot or iced, in combinations such as Pistachio, Coconut, Oat Foam and Berry Brown Sugar.

With the food, the menu moves seamlessly between wholesome, memorable and indulgent: a Cocoa Maca Energy Booster and Mango Coconut Anti-Ager Smoothie sit alongside an Heirloom Tomato salad, a Middle Eastern Platter, Baby Potatoes with Asparagus and Miso braised savoury pancakes, before dessert closes the experience, with comfort additions like the Classic Chocolate Birthday Cake, Classic Pistachio Berry Cake and Crème Brûlée joining the brand’s existing signatures.

“Our first café was built around the idea of slowing down, discovering the space, spending time there. Lower Parel is a very different neighbourhood, so we wanted to create something that fits into the rhythm of everyday life. You can drop in for a coffee before work, stay for brunch, pick up a dessert in the afternoon, or simply let it become part of your daily ritual. What remains unchanged is the craft, the quality, and the standards that people have come to associate with Vanilla Miel,“ say Isha & Mansi, Founders, Vanilla Miel.

With its second café, Vanilla Miel pushes the envelope further, bringing its pastry and chocolate roots together with the ease of everyday life, giving Lower Parel a new space for signature desserts, speciality coffee, ceremonial matcha, wholesome brunch, and all-day dining.
