The internet streaming services have substituted television as the place we turn to for amusement. From the crush-worthy To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before to the disturbing, Black Mirror-esque, Ghoul, we have had a lot to watch on streaming services.

And if you’re hell bored watching saas-bahu sagas, same old Hollywood series and other over-the-top stuff on tv, then it’s high time to venture into the world of Indian web series. From folks drama with a hint of 90’s nostalgia to a story about contemporary relationships, there’s a lot on the web if you have the time to binge-watch. However, if you are now looking for something with a desi flavour, we’ve got just the catalogue for you.

Mirzapur

Director: Karan Anshuman and Gurmmeet Singh

Starring: Vikrant Massey, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Divyendu Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Shweta Tripathi

The nine-episode Mirzapur is a typical guns-and-goons story set in the town of Mirzapur, somewhere in the northern surroundings, and focuses on Akhand Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi) aka Kaaleen Bhaiya, a carpet exporter who causes and reins all of the town’s illicit activities. What unfolds is a story of supremacy dynamics in small-town India, stuffed with treachery, mutiny and massacre. Mirzapur tries to wed the hollow drama of Godfather with the wilderness of Gangs of Wasseypur.

Little Things Season 2

Director: Ruchir Arun

Sacred Games

It’s a felony classic that wants to consider what the police in a giant city owe to those they serve and the penalty of an aggressive status built on dispatching any challengers at any moment.

Yeh Meri Family
