US-China Air Conflict

The constant tug of war between the United States and China has been going on for a while.

And now it’s showing its effect on the transportation department of the country.

In a recent press release issued by the Department of Transportation of the United States, the country has taken the decision to suspend all the scheduled passenger flights of Chinese Carriers to and from the United States which will be effective by 16 June 2020 or before it if President Trump orders the earlier exercise of it.

According to the statement of DOT of the US, the severe action has been taken in response to the failure of Chinese Government to approve the US carriers to resume their services in the country from 1 June.

Giving the details about the violation of the Air Transportation Agreement, the Press release states: “Currently, four Chinese carriers and no U.S. carriers operate scheduled passenger flights between the United States and China. U.S. carriers have asked to resume passenger service, beginning June 1st. The Chinese government’s failure to approve their requests is a violation of our Air Transport Agreement.”

Meanwhile, the Transportation Department will be in constant discussion with the Chinese counterpart for getting the approval for the Air services.
