Southampton registers win against rivals Brighton, 2-1 in the Premier League. It was no ordinary win!
Jannik Vestergaard’s goal in the first half of the match and Danny Ings’s penalty shoot led Southampton to cross the finish line and defeated Brighton in the tournament. With this win, the club comes out of their losing streak for the first time in their last 15 attempts as well as become just the eleventh team in the history of Premier League to reach 1,000 points.

With Southampton’s win, their defensive midfielder James Ward-Prowse has registered his 25 Premier League for the club, a haul bettered by only three other players that includes Matt Le Tissier, Dusan Tadic and Jason Dodd.
Next up, Southampton will face Sheffield United in the weekend, following which they go head-to-head with Arsenal. A turmoil awaits!
