Prateik Babbar roped in to play Antagonist opposite Rajinikanth

Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Allirajah Subaskaran, Darbar is an upcoming Indian Tamil film starring Rajinikanth as a cop after 25 years. The film also stars Nayanthara as the leading lady. Besides that, a new member has joined the Darbar family, Prateik Babbar who will be portraying the role of an antagonist in the film. He took it to his Instagram account to announce his character as a villain in superstar Rajinikanth’s movie. In a statement, the actor Prateik Babbar said, ‘It has been my aspiration to share screen space with a legend like Rajinikanth sir. I can’t wait to meet him and observe him on set. I have been appreciated for my characters with grey shades and I am investing my 200 percent in this role because it’s an opportunity of a lifetime.’

The film was first titled as Thalaivar 167 which was later changed to Darbar.

The film is slated to hit the cinemas on Pongal, 2020.
