Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had his first telephonic conversation with the US President elect Joe Biden where the world leaders discussed strengthening the India-US relation along with focusing on the current pandemic situation, climate change and cooperation in Indo-Pacific region.

PM Modi shared the news via his official Twitter handle where he wrote, “Spoke to US President-elect @JoeBiden on phone to congratulate him. We reiterated our firm commitment to the Indo-US strategic partnership and discussed our shared priorities and concerns – Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region.”

 

PM also congratulated the Vice President elect Kamala Harris and called her success as “a matter of great pride and inspiration for members of the vibrant Indian-American community”.

 

Prior to the phone conversation, PM Modi has also shared congratulatory messages to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on their incredible victory in the US Presidential elections that were held on 3 November.
