Bollywood is slowly embracing the South Indian Film Industry tradition of dropping the movie teasers, trailers or posters on the special day of the lead actors.
Following the same ritual, on the birthday of Kangana Ranaut, filmmakers have released the trailer of her much anticipated movie ‘Thalaivi’.
The trailer shows the journey of legendary leader Jayalalitha who has broken several norms during her tenure. It focuses on both early filmy life of Jayalalitha as well as her political career. The video clip also shows the ups and downs of the personal life of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister portrayed by Kangana, who’s doing justice to her character and looks bold throughout the trailer run.
The movie also shows the transition of a lady and how she rises to power in a male dominated set up. ‘Thalaivi’ is directed by AL Vijay and also features Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta and Bhagyashree in pivotal roles inspired by real life characters.
The movie is set to hit the theatres on 23 April this year in multiple languages.
