Delhi textile conservationist Nidhi Jain’s labels Nidhi Jain is ready with their latest collection for the season. Called Malhar, this is a monsoon inspired collection, the colours are inspired from the calming effect of the rains on the scorching heat. The outfits have nature inspired motives, each of them have floral motives with birds and butterflies. Since Nidhi values tradition heritage and Indian culture, she basis her designs on age old textiles and handicrafts of the country which have sustained down the ages and continue to fascinate us even today. The collection includes a variety of silhouettes that seamlessly blend the contemporary and the ancient to beautiful effect The fabrics uses are mostly hand woven Bhagalpuri, Matka silks. The silhouettes are breezy and reflective of the monsoon mood. The raag Malhar is an iconic piece which blends into the silent humm of the rains. The collection brings out this musical flow with its colours, silhouettes and fabrics.
