According to Reuters, Apple Incorporation, the giant multinational company, going to release its Made in India flagship phones next month. iPhones will be assembled by local unit of Hon Hai Precision Industry under the name of Foxconn, in Tamil Nadu, India. Expanding the local assembly will help Apple save high taxes that are levied during the import of the fully-built devices.

 

 

India made iPhone XR and iPhone XS, are speculated to be launched at a more affordable price. Currently iPhones are considered in the luxury items due to its premium pricing. Apple took the decision of local assembly to compete with its Chinese smartphone manufacturers. While nothing is confirmed but through this initiative apple is likely to expand its market in South Asia. Apple can also use India as an export hub since there is an ongoing trade conflict between America and China. 

Earlier, this year, the iPhone 7 along with iPhone 6S and iPhone SE, were being manufactured by the Taiwanese company, Wistron Infocomm, at the outskirts of Bengaluru, India.
