Kangana Ranaut To Play ‘Puratchi Thalaivi’

After portraying the role of Jhansi Ki Rani in “Manikarnika’ movie, Kangana Ranaut is all set to step into the shoes of Jayalalitha, the late Tamil Nadu CM and a veteran actress. Kangana announced that she will be playing the role of the politician/actor in Jayalalithaa’s biopic. Kangana Ranaut has always been known to play unique roles. From ‘Queen’ to “Jhansi Ki Rani’, she has been successful in making a place in the hearts of her fans.

Jayalalitha is also known as ‘Puratchi Thalaivi’ in Tamil Nadu which means ‘revolutionary leader’. This film will be released in two languages, titled as “Thalaivi’ in Tamil and ‘Jaya’ in Hindi, directed by AL Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri. Kangana told an online portal, “Jayalalithaaji is one of the biggest female success stories of this century. She was a superstar and went on to become an iconic politician; it is a great concept for mainstream film. I am honoured to be a part of this mega project”.

This is Kangana’s second biopic movie in the row after Manikarnika which released earlier this year. Her upcoming projects include ‘Mental Hai Kaya’ and ‘Panga’ which will also be released in the same year.
