International cricket council (ICC) has honored the, ‘God of cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar, by inducting him in its Hall of fame. Along with Master Blaster, former South African pace bowler Allan Donald, and two-time World Cup-winning Australian woman cricketer, Cathryn Fitzpatrick, have also been also inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, yesterday.

Tendulkar, who has played 200 Tests and holds the record for the most number of Test runs and Test hundreds, became the sixth Indian batsman to be given the honour.

Known as ‘White Lightning’, Donald has picked 330 wickets in Tests and 272 in ODIs, in his career.

On getting the mail about being one of the three inductees of ICC hall of fame, Allan says, “ Everything reflects back to where you started, how you started.”

Fitzpatrick, the eighth woman to win the award, helped Australia win two ICC Women’s Cricket World Cups, and also finished with 60 wickets in 13 Tests. She was the fastest bowler in women’s cricket for a period of 16 years, ending her career with a record 180 wickets in 109 matches.

Fans and followers of the cricketers have turned in to congratulate the three ICC Hall of Fame inductees. A former teammate of Allan Donald, Jacques Kallis, and Mahela Jayawardena shared a video to congratulate the players.

The International Cricket Council (ICC), in its Annual Conference meeting held in London, has also decided to suspend Zimbabwe Cricket with immediate effect. The suspension will freeze ICC’s funding to Zimbabwe Cricket and representative teams from Zimbabwe will not be allowed to participate in any ICC events. ICC issued the punishment after the entire Zimbabwe Cricket Board was suspended by the government sports and recreation commission last month and replaced with an interim committee.
