Country music sounds boring to most of the people around us, but it was a special day for all the people who love the genre. It’s a time for them to come together,  listen, celebrate, share the same vibe and remember the good old songs of country music.

In 1950, Country Music Deejay Association (CMDJA), made an initiative to honour singer and songwriter, James Charles Rodgers, also known as Jimmie Rodgers, as the Father of Country Music. To commemorate his honour, this day is celebrated as National Country Music Day all around the world.

This genre of music originated in Atlanta, Georgia in the 1920’s. It consists of simple harmonies accompanied by string instruments like banjos, guitars, fiddles and harmonicas.

The world has seen some amazing country singers in the past few decades who have made an immense contribution. We tried to remember some.
