Sustainability is not just a Gen Z popularised term but the need of the hour to ensure a better future for the upcoming generation. But it is not possible until we all work together for it. Hence, big conglomerates that impact our lives on an everyday basis are working actively for it.
Google being one of the trendsetters had announced its sustainability programmes long back and since then has constantly injected the market with upcycled products that are not just tech-advanced but are sheer brilliance in terms of designs.
Last year, the company had committed that all of their products would include recycled materials by the year 2022 and this year they hit their mark by introducing Pixel 5 and Nest products that are completely designed from recycled materials.
On achieving a milestone, the company is now even more confident and notching up their game by setting up new goals and resolutions for the upcoming years. Google is all set to use at least fifty percent of recycled plastic in all their hardwares with an aim to use renewed plastics wherever possible.
Moreover, to take control over waste generation, the Californian company is committing to achieve UL 2799 Zero Waste Landfill certification at all final assembly manufacturing sites by 2022 which will ensure that the vast majority of waste from those operations will be recycled.
Along with it Google also announced to make their product packaging 100 percent plastic free and 100 percent recyclable.
