In Figuring the Edge, Raghava KK transforms the canvas into a site of tension between body and image, figure and ground. The edge becomes the primary  compositional force—a metaphor for contact between different realities. Through heightened impasto, layered pigment, and shifting velocities of mark-making, Raghava builds textured surfaces that invite movement and proximity, compelling the viewer to engage physically with the work.

Each painting functions as an experiment: a response to philosophical ideas of the body, a technical inquiry into surface and material, or an exploration of the limits of painting itself. Some works are mounted close to the floor or parallel to it, extending beyond the frame into lived space.

Unphotographable by design, these works insist on presence—they demand to be encountered in person, at the edge where seeing becomes an act of touch.
