Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has signed a new long-term contract to stay with the club until 2023, with an option to extend for a further year.

 

He has also become the club’s highest-paid star after finally signing a new £375,000-a-week contract, at Old Trafford. The 28-year-old signed the new deal with the United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after 18 months of negotiation.

 

The Spanish footballer joined the club in 2011, making 367 appearances. During this time, he has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Europa League and the Community Shield.

 

The club will host FC Astana in the Europa League group stage before visiting West Ham United in the Premier League.
