After a tremendous win of Women’s Cricket team of India over South Africa in their ongoing five matches T20I series, the second match was abandoned due to heavy rain.

Announcing the same, BCCI Women official social media tweeted, “Not the news we wanted to hear. It was toss time in the 2nd @Paytm T20I but now it has been delayed owing to rain #INDWvSAW”.

Well, it was definitely not the news that we wanted to hear in the final phase of World T20 preparation of team India but we are happy that at least India has one point on its side.

Earlier, in the field of Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat, team India under the captain Harmanpreet Kaur came out with flying colours. The audience also witnessed the extraordinary performance of Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma who took three wickets in 18 balls and India took a lead of 1-0 against South Africa.

Though the weather was not clear on the second match of T20I series against South African Women, the viewers did not fail to surprise us and turned out in huge numbers to witness the match.

Dedicating a post to the audience, BCCI Women Twitter account thanked the viewers and wrote, “Kudos to the cricket fans in Surat for once again turning up in large numbers at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium despite the drizzle. @Paytm #INDWSAW”.

This T20I series is quite special as it is the first match post-Mithali Raj era. The legendary player earlier took retirement from the shortest format of cricket. Apart from Mithali’s retirement move, Shafali Verma, a 15-year-old girl made her debut in the International Cricket career.

The next match of the series is going to be held on upcoming Sunday at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat.

All  the very best Team India!
