Well the buzz is that there is going to be a sequel to the film, but with a fresh cast. The sources say ‘Bhushan wanted to make a part 2 of Bhool Bhulaiyaa for a while now and has cracked an idea with Farhad Samji, who will be writing and directing the film. It is in the development stage and will feature a fresh cast. Once the final script is locked, the team will kick off casting and other pre-production formalities.’

The original film was the official remake of the Tamil film Chandramukhi which was an official remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu.
The original story revolved around Shiney Ahuja and Vidya Balan’s personality who swear on living in their family house in spite of all the tales of ghosts living in. In spite of cautioning Vidya’s personality about not opening a particular room, she swears. Later on, Shiney Ahuja’s personality has to take help of Akshay Kumar who plays a psychiatrist to bail out of this situation.
