Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced the suspension of the wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Shahzad from all forms of cricket for one year. Shahzad was found guilty by the Discipline Committee for the breach of ACB’s code of conduct.

Earlier, Shahzad’s contract was suspended for an indefinite period for breaching the ACB Code of Conduct but now the term has been fixed for a year.

Previously, the batsman had violated the disciplinary rules and regulations, along with it he had not adhered to the Code of Conduct for players. He travelled abroad several times without seeking permission of the board, violating ACB’s policy.

Last year, the ACB had fined Shahzad and asked him to relocate to Afghanistan permanently from Peshawar, Pakistan where he is based at or risk having his contract terminated.
