Taylor Swift has surprised her fans by releasing her new album, ‘Folklore’, written and recorded entirely by her. An album that fills the void left by a summer of cancelled plans and a somber record that looks back at old mistakes and old flames.

More of an indie album, Taylor’s eighth album ‘Folklore’ has tunes of muted pianos, mournful harmonicas and guitars. Coming with 16 songs, Taylor Swift has collaborated with Aaron Dessner and Bon Iver for two songs in this record to brighten up our quarantine.

From a tribute to doctors in ‘Epiphany’, a ballad on a failing relationship that feels like war in ‘Exile’ to imagining her own funeral in ‘My Tears Ricochet’ and telling the story of a socialite and patron of art in ‘The Last Great American Dynasty’, Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’ is heartfelt and musical.

Known for tempering romance with anger and heartbreak, Taylor Swift has once again added the touch of either escaping, to the lakes, to her memories or to a lover’s arms. The American singer has dropped all the lyric videos of her songs and a music video of the song, ‘Cardigan’.
