The country’s most loved and renowned designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has touched international coasts with his first-time-ever International wedding line presented with luxury retail chain, Lane Crawford, in Hong Kong and we can’t stop gaping at these magical creations. Known for his famous handicraft, romantic heavy embellished bridal lehengas, Sabyasachi loves to incorporate intricate embroideries and architectural silhouettes in his Indian aesthetic designs.
It is a dream come true for the Bollywood biggie who always longed to take his work overseas and design international bridalwear and he is all set to take off for his new big adventure. Being active on social media, his latest work made a debut on Instagram this Sunday in monochrome and we can’t stop gazing at the awe-inspiring detailed designs of his signature couture style coupled with westernised silhouettes.
After dressing up an endless number of Indian celebrities, brides, models and impressing us with his fine and heritage jewellery; and charming home décor, the man of the hour has come up with garments moulded to international tastes and sensibilities in his new venture. The 45-piece collection has garments crafted with fabrics like tea-dyed muslin, embroidered tulle and fine brocades. The embellishments have fine pearl work, silk floss thread embroidery, semi-precious stones and other crafts.
With no further delay here are the posts and pictures of our favourite designer’s sartorial brilliance from his brand new white wedding collection.
Sharing his motives Sabyasachi Mukherjee recently revealed, ‘While at an entrepreneur level it is important for me to grow my business, at a personal level it is also important for me to keep traditional crafts in India alive by creating bigger and wider markets for them. The possibility of doing a white wedding also means using a lot of traditional handicrafts from India and creating a wider and more sustainable market for them. The key to sustainability is not charity but mere empowerment.’
We couldn’t be gladder!
