1. Abid Ali seals place in cricket history
Pakistan opener, Abid Ali has become the only male player in cricket history to score a hundred on both his ODI and Test debuts. The batsman scored Test century on the final day of the match against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Earlier this year, the 32 year-old player also scored his ODI maiden century against Australia in Dubai.
2. New South African head coach
Former wicket-keeper and South African player, Mark Boucher has been named as head coach of the South Africa Men’s National Team. Selected by the country’s cricket board’s acting President Graeme Smith, Boucher’s first assignment as coach will be against England. This will consist of four Tests, three ODI and three T20. Mark Boucher’s contract runs until the end of the next World Cup in 2023.
3. India lost to West Indies in first ODI
West Indies surprised everyone by winning the first ODI against India in Chennai. Defeated by eight wickets, the Men in Blue will be disappointed with their fielding and bowling performance. India put up a score of 287 runs on the board but the Caribbean team had other plans. Shimron Hetmyer snatched the game from India’s hands and smashed 139 off 106 balls. 4. Sachin finds his long lost advisor
Few days back, Sachin Tendulkar asked netizens to help him search for a Taj Coramandel’s staff member who gave him an insightful piece of advice that changed his game. The staff advised Sachin to make adjustments to his elbow guard to improve his bat swing and this changed Sachin’s cricket career. Now, the Taj hotels announced via a tweet that they have found the staff member and would be delighted to connect the two for a meeting.

5. Kohli’s reply to diaper baby’s batting skills
A video of a kid in diaper playing exquisite cricketing shots was shared by former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen on Instagram. Wearing gloves, the kid can be seen cracking straight drives and cover drives with his plastic bat. Expressing awe at the kid’s batting skills, Kevin Pietersen asked Indian captain Virat Kohli if he would consider the kid for selection. Responding to the question, Kohli acknowledged the kid’s unreal talent and asked where he is from.
