The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the names of few support staff who will join the Indian Cricket Team for the next two years. Along with this, they are still continuing the selection process for the rest of the positions.

 

 

After one round of interview with close to 100 candidates for the position of batting coach, fielding coach, bowling coach, physiotherapist, strength and conditioning coach and administrative coach, the five member committee of BCCI has selected three candidates for each position.

The second round of interview for the strength and conditioning coach will take place in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore, Karnataka. Here, their practical skills will be put on test. The candidates are, Luke Woodhouse, Grant Luden, Rajnikanth Sivagnanam, Nick Webb and Anand Date.

 

 

For the position of physiotherapist and administrative manager, a face to face interview will be conducted with the five member committee. After this procedure, BCCI will announce the names of the support staff joining the Indian team for these three positions.

The candidates for the post of physiotherapist are Nitin Patel, Andrew Lepius and Vaibhav Daga. For the position of administrative manager, the candidates are Girish Dongre, Venkatesh Rajagopalan and Anand Yalgavi.

While, BCCI has announced that the former Indian opener Vikram Rathour will be the new batting coach, replacing Sanjay Bangar. Bharat Arun and R Sridhar have been retained as the bowling and fielding coach respectively.

The senior national selection committee will appoint a member for the remaining support staff position after the formalities with regards to Conflict of Interest declaration is complete.

Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri was reappointed as the head coach of the Indian cricket team by Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee.
