‘Yatri Rangmahotsav 2019’  offering a feast of theatre gems is on from January 11, 2019 to March 31, 2019 –at prominent theatres in Mumbai. This is an over two-month long extravaganza, one no theatre lover would ever want to miss with more than 40 plays over 40 days in 10 venues. The stage fest has been organised by playwright Om Katare’s Yatri Group in association with  Nihilent Ltd. This marks the 40th year of the renowned theatre group.

 

Here are five plays that Om Katare suggests you cannot afford to miss.

1. Kalchakra which has been running for the last 25 years is about the anguish of elderly parents whose children do not want to care for them

2. RavanLeela a spoof on the traditional Ram Leela where men played the role of women protagonists. It’s a musical with an interesting script and has been running for 10 years and still plays to a full house.

3. Haad Kar Di Aapne is about a late age pregnancy. The recent Bollywood hit film Badhai Ho was based on this play.

4. Genius Chor. This is my play and is about an honest man who never speaks a lie in his life. It is a new play that opened four days ago.

5. Tillu Ki Dhulhaniya a fine literary work by K P Saxena. This is one of the best humorous plays you can see.
