Warriors of Heaven and Earth

A Chinese action-adventure film released in 2003, directed by He Ping. The songs have a Chinese, Turkish and Indian influence.

 

 

Provoked

A British biographical drama film starring Aishwarya Rai and directed by Jag Mundhra. The song Alive was written and performed by Karen David.

 

 

Elizabeth: The Golden Age

Another British biographical drama film, directed by Shekhar Kapur and becomes the sequel to the film Elizabeth. The music was composed by AR Rahman along with Craig Armstrong.

 

 

Couples Retreat

A romantic comedy film starring Vince Vaughn and Jason Bateman and directed by Peter Billingsley. The songs received positive reviews and the track NaNa was nominated for the 2010 Academy Award for Best Original Song. The Tamil bits in the track Kurukuru Kan was written by AR Rahman himself.

127 Hours

This is a survival film starring James Franco and directed and produced by Danny Boyle. Danny Boyle had previously associated with AR Rahman for Slumdog Millionaire. The guitar was chosen as the main instrument for the tracks as Rahman believed it reflected the character’s youth and confidence.

 

 

People Like Us

A drama film directed by Alex Kurtzman, starring Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, and Olivia Wilde.

 

 

The Hundred-Foot Journey

A comedy-drama film starring Helen Mirren, Om Puri, Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon and directed by Lasse Hallström. The tracks feature Indian instruments like sitar, sarod and santoor integrated into French music.
