12 years back, a young boy entered the Indian team and who knew he would become a household name not just in India but globally as well?
Yes, that young boy is none other than Indian skipper and one of the world’s best cricketers of all time, Virat Kohli!
On this day in 2008, Virat Kohli led the team to win the U-19 World Cup. He also received the opportunity to wear the blue jersey as he made his first international appearance against Sri Lanka for the national cricket team.
Marking a benchmark in the history of cricket, Virat Kohli has already surpassed many records as well as written new ones. Scoring 43 ODI centuries and 27 tons in Test cricket, he is also leading the ICC Ranking in every format of the game. In ODI, he has surpassed 11,000 runs with an average of 59.33 and scored 7,240 runs at an average of 53.62 in Tests.
