“Feeling tired all the time has become surprisingly common. Many people are getting enough sleep, taking breaks, and even going on holidays, yet they still wake up feeling exhausted. The reason is that in today’s fast-paced world, rest alone is often not enough to restore your energy.

Our modern lifestyle constantly keeps the body switched on. Long work hours, endless screen time, mental stress, poor eating habits, and lack of proper recovery leave the body in a continuous state of “fight or flight.” Over time, this doesn’t just affect the mind—it affects the body at a much deeper, cellular level.

At the centre of this process are the mitochondria, often called the powerhouses of our cells. They produce the energy needed for every function in the body, from thinking and moving to hormone balance, digestion, and immune health. When they are constantly overworked without enough recovery, they become less efficient, making it harder for the body to produce the energy it needs.

This decline in cellular energy may contribute to issues such as persistent fatigue, hormonal imbalances, gut dysbiosis, and chronic inflammation. While these conditions have many causes, reduced mitochondrial function can make it more difficult for the body to recover and function at its best.

This is why recovery should go beyond simply getting more sleep. Sleep is essential and remains one of the most important foundations of good health. However, when the body has been under prolonged stress, it also needs support to rebuild energy at the cellular level.

Focusing on mitochondrial health through proper nutrition, regular movement, stress management, and evidence-based longevity strategies can help improve how the body creates and uses energy. This approach is about strengthening the body’s natural ability to recover, rather than simply masking fatigue.

True wellness isn’t just about feeling rested. It’s about restoring your body’s energy from within, so you have the resilience to meet the demands of everyday life with strength, clarity, and long-term vitality” says Dr. Aishwarya Selvaraj, Founder and Chief Managing Director of Bio Revive.
