World number one, Naomi Osaka shattered Serena Williams’ dream of lifting her 24 Grand Slam by defeating her in the semi-finals of the Australian Open. In straight sets 6-4, 6-3, the Japanese tennis star captured her spot in the finals of the tournament and is set to lock horns with Jennifer Brady for the women’s singles title at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

Coming to the men’s singles, Daniil Medvedev is set to face Novak Djokovic in the finals of the Australian Open. The Russian tennis player won three straight sets, 6-4 6-2 7-5, against Greek’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, to move to his first final of this Grand Slam. With ease and solid attack on court, the world number four will face the top seeded star to grab the trophy at Melbourne Park, amongst the loud cheers from the live crowd.

Meanwhile, Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka are the champions of women’s doubles at the Australian Open!

The second seeded, Belgian-Belarusian duo proved too strong on the Czech pair of Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova, winning 6-2, 6-3 on Rod Laver Arena after sealing the match in the fourth championship point. This was their second Grand Slam win and hope for more in the future!
