Inspired by the fruit, Tamarind is a new fine-dine restaurant where every detail
pays homage to the tamarind’s layered flavour, rich cultural associations, and
timeless appeal. Conceptualised and designed by Misbah Kapadia, Founder and
Curator of Design Konstruct, the space evokes a sense of warmth, nostalgia, and
modern refinement.

The interiors balance old-world charm with a contemporary spirit. Soft curves, bold
silhouettes, and rich textures come together to create an inviting atmosphere that
feels both familiar and elevated. Painted details on curved walls and inverted
architectural elements add depth and interest.

As guests walk in, they are welcomed by a large glass facade and an eye-catching
artwork made using vinyl stickers. The entrance door is a clean white panel, next to
a golden sculpture with the Tamarind logo setting the tone for the experience
inside.

The lighting throughout Tamarind is a mix of soft and statement pieces. Chandeliers
made of white beads, jute, and gold finishes give the space a rustic yet elegant
feel. Vertical lights and backlit seating areas create a warm, layered glow.

The floors are laid out using a mix of white tiles, vintage hexagon tiles, and green
floral tiles adding a classic touch with a fresh twist. One of the highlights is a hand-
painted mural of tamarind leaves, connecting the design back to the restaurant’s
name.

The furniture is cozy yet stylish. Tables are made with tiles and wood, while chairs
and sofas are upholstered in velvet, leather, and printed fabrics. The Private Dining
Room (PDR) features green floral tiles, a custom dining table, and a gold chandelier
that adds luxury.

The bar has a vineyard-inspired look with niches, wooden flutes, and a beige stone
top. Special touches like plant trays in arched frames and a sculptural wine glass
holder add creativity and charm.

Tamarind is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience where every design choice
tells a story.
